Our lives are such that today, and especially in these trying times we have forgotten what makes us happy. We have forgotten what are the little things in our lives that bring about a smile on our faces. We are so trapped with our emotions and this hurried lifestyle that we tend to overlook the little things and the little moments of the day or that one little thing that makes up our entire day.
Let me ask you... how would you understand that you are in a happy state of mind? when you think about it you realise that... today we measure happiness through external forces- like that of what tasks, what activities or what ideas make us happy. What is the one thing we look forward to each day that will make us happy.
But...when we are performing that task or have completed it we forget to ask ourselves if we were really smiling or happy while doing it or now that it is over? were we really happy with the end motives of the tasks that we thought would make us happy?
So, is it necessary to keep smiling, keep going, or keep being happy in order to be in a perfect state of mind? No. Happiness is under-rated there is so much linked to this word that it has lost its true meaning. Similarly, never in our lives will we be at one stage or state in life where we will eventually realise that we are in the best or perfect state of mind.
You will realise what makes you happy over a series of events, circumstances and loads of experiences that you encounter in the course of life and this very concept of being happy keeps changing as per you and not the people around you.
When you realise that you want to be in a happy space- it will automatically add no pressure to you- like that of working hard at office or trying to lose or gain weight. So what if you lost your job, or gained weight? Ofcourse you will be unhappy and feel negative about yourself but remember that when we attach some materialistic aspects to our happiness it does not last long- then we are never ideally in the space that we once aspired to be in.
We need to to embrace happiness without having any of these standards attached to it- finding happiness in the little moments or in that one moment will truly make your heart as well as your face smile together and then probably you will be in happy state and you will realise that it it is much more than a state of mind.

This is so true. We should always cherish even the smallest moments cause those are the ones we remember for a lifetime! Good work, Ushma!
