Any reason to stay?

Doesn't it bother you when you have nothing interesting in your regular life?

We didn't seem to enjoy what was going on,

Hence probably parting ways is what we chose,

Small events in life, small moments in the regular,

Turned into bigger problems and bigger consequences,

Prepared as we were, this was all going to break,

Fancy as it sounds, fighting for survival,

One was emotional,

One was stronger than ever,

Heartbreaking to cope as it was,

Just in the ordinary,

Well, we needed something extra ordinary.


Too many things said,

Too many things done,

Apparent "sides" picked,

Apparent "sides" were forced,

In teams of two,

Till the very end,

Two of us wanted it to be one big team,

Trying to hold on,

Trying to be the bidding force,

Hoping to be a strong pack of wolves,

A pack of my closest people and me,

Against all the odds,

We fought. 


Against all the days that were spent in overthinking,

Against all the late nights,

That turned into early mornings,

Somewhere we fought,

To be one,

To stay united,

To remain our old selves,

Some days, weeks and months passed,

Still I saw and knew,

Unknowingly leaning on to each other,

Longing to be one,

Just in the ordinary,

These small acts of kindness,

Played a big role in becoming extra ordinary!


Before we realised the obvious,

I spent days trying to make a point,

Surely, went against one another,

The purpose of being one was clear,

By now I had given too many signs as well,

What more could I have done?


Some suggested ego played a role,

Some thought emotions did,

Don't know if I was trying to be practical,

Don't know what was holding me back,

Glad to have probably stuck by,

The universe showed better signs,

Crushing the ego one day at a time,

Here we were meeting each other everyday,

Don't know what lies ahead of us,

But with each passing day,

This fight for one,

Could be any reason to stay.

    Wish we could turn back time and change this. However, there is no real alternative. I'm sorry for all the trouble caused. Love you always!
