I once remembered writing about how the city is the one that never sleeps,
Mumbai, is the place where dreams do come true,
Mumbai, is also where the night doesn't fade in,
People continue to grind and so much more,
I remember living like that,
In a place I call home,
But today, I feel... this very own Mumbai City is tired
The pandemic took the life out of living people,
Shattered dreams, killed people and filled the happening lives of people, with things that aren't so very fancy,
People here bred on extraordinary,
And now, we are only settling as per requirement,
Living from hand to mouth,
Unknown people felt familiar,
Every smile from an unknown in the darkest phases of life,
Only seemed to be a bright light of hope,
This same Mumbai City, seems to be tired
So is it the people?
Is it the environment?
Is the peace and sanity of the people?
Just like you, I question?
Just like you, I wonder,
What makes Mumbai City so tiring?
To which, there is no probable answer that I get,
The only thing I know is,
People continue to hustle,
People continue to put in hard work,
People continue their routine work,
Only now, it's without the smile on their faces,
Or probably a fake smile behind their growing unfortunate worries...
Not to forget,
The city of Mumbai itself is being re-built,
Right from scratch,
Iconic places like the Worli Seaface, Marine Drive Promenade, Breach Candy road is being put to dust,
In a hope that,
The shambles of dust, would be made into constructive locations,
The city of Mumbai is truly tired and is undergoing changing.
