Hardik Pandya: The Man of the Hour

Hardik Himanshu Pandya,

Jersey Number: 33, 

A cricketer that has been in and out of the news,

Someone who has been largely spoken about,

Someone who has been in the limelight for quite sometime now,

A fine bowler, classy batter and even finer captain of the newly formed Gujarat Titans franchise,

The franchise that won the Tata IPL 2022 season,

In its first year of the league under Pandya's leadership

This is the story of Hardik,

Before becoming Gujarat's dream,

Before all,

This is story that emulates the rising of a phoenix from the ashes


Hardik Himanshu Pandya,

As you all might have known, read and heard,

He has been obviously criticised before been applauded,

Going back in time when injuries, the talk show and his form was questioned,

Going back in time when his selection, place in the playing XI, and performance on field was doubted,

Choosing to bowl lesser,

Choosing to bat better,

Struggling hard on and off the field,

At one point it felt as though,

The stadium doors would be closed forever,

Although the cricketing fraternity openly "missed his presence"

Several times compared him to other players,

Little did they know,

One day, the phoenix will rise from his ashes 


Those times might have been tough,

With minimal support, lots of negative noise and so much more,

Came finally one promising opportunity,

After not been retained by a top team,

The Ahmedabad franchise,

CVC Capitals' Gujarat Titans,

Named Hardik Pandya captain of their squad,

Hardik, hungry to make an impact took it to his stride to make that difference,

Match after match,

A promising performance with the bat, ball and expertise in leadership,

Indeed, the best answer was no answer,

First trophy in the #seasonsoffirsts for the Gujarat Titans,

Was enough proof that the phoenix has risen,

Was enough proof that Hardik Pandya is back. 


However, for those who played the dirty politics of mixing cricket with politics,

This is a journey of passion, determination and grit,

This is what Pandya might have been preparing and waiting for,

Let his hardwork, months of preparation, and sweat do the talking,

Let his cricket do the "talking" and not otherwise,

Hardik Pandya is back and here to stay.
